The International Association of Pediatric Dentistry has joined the Alliance for the Cavity Free Future

One of the main objectives of IAPD is to promote children´s oral health throughout the world. Dental Caries is a highly prevalent disease in children worldwide, therefore it is very important that IAPD collaborate with organizations that promote strategies to reduce dental caries in children.

The Alliance for the Cavity Free Future (ACFF) is a worldwide group of experts who have joined together to promote integrated clinical and public health action in order to stop initiation and progression of caries to promote a Cavity-Free Future for all age groups. Overall, the group believes that global collaborative action is needed to challenge global leaders and other regional and local stakeholders to learn the importance of caries as a disease continuum and to participate in action toward the delivery of comprehensive caries prevention and management that can positively influence the continuing problem of caries.

Once a year, the ACFF holds a meeting called the Global Expert Panel. The meeting was held in Washington DC on October 15th, 2016 It was the first time that IAPD was included and the IAPD was represented by the Immediate Past President, Dr Jorge Castillo. We look forward to working together with the ACFF to achieve the common objective which is the improvement of oral health in children in the world.
