Dr Kavvadia received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and Masters from the University of Connecticut in 1988,  her PhD from the University of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Greece in 1994, and is  a Diplomate of the American  Board  of Pediatric Dentistry. She has more than 20 years experience in Academics in all aspects of dental education, didactic, clinical/patient care and research mentoring (both MS and PhD students) and has graduated over 60 Pediatric  Dentistry residents.  Currently she is the Residency Program Director at the University of Louisville, KY, USA.  Previous positions held were  Chair and Program director at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, University of Athens Greece,  program director at the European University College, Dubai-UAE, Associate Professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore, USA and Chair of the Education Committee of the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.   She has served as Editor of the Hellenic Pediatric Dental Journal  and has received  awards for her work in International Conferences.    Her scholarly activity includes 59 publications and chapters in two textbooks and has served as a reviewer for several International journals. She has lectured as an invited speaker and has participated in over 180 presentations in congresses and many continuous education courses.  She is member of various International Scientific Societies and Associations. She is member of the IAPD scientific Committee and has been the involved in the IAPD Fluoride recommendations.
