The IAPD Symposium Shines at the FDI World Dental Congress
The recent IAPD Symposium at the prestigious FDI World Dental Congress was a resounding success, bringing together leaders in the field of paediatric dentistry to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and strengthen global ties. The FDI World Dental Congress is a flagship event for the global dental community and it is renowned for bringing together dental professionals from across the world, aiming to strengthen professional ties and foster collaboration. This year’s event, held in Istanbul, Türkiye, was no different, offering participants the opportunity to engage with peers, exchange ideas, and build upon their expertise in pursuit of advancing global oral health.
With Professor Figen Seymen, President of the IAPD, serving as the Session Chair, the symposium was both expertly guided and deeply engaging. The IAPD Symposium featured two esteemed speakers: Professor Semen Sevli Kuvvetli and Professor Varinder Goyal, who delivered enlightening lectures on the latest advancements in the field.
Global collaboration and shared knowledge can drive progress in improving the oral health and well-being of children worldwide.
XXII ALOP Congress Unites Professionals in Santa Cruz
The XXII Latin American Paediatric Dentistry Congress, held from 28th to 30th August 2024 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, was a landmark event for the paediatric dental community across the region, with more than 300 delegates attending, building strong connections and sharing knowledge on paediatric dentistry
Among the distinguished participants was Dr. Jorge Castillo, Past President of the IAPD, who made a notable contribution as one of the key speakers, delivering the closing lecture.
Throughout the event, attendees had the chance to network with fellow practitioners, share experiences, and engage in meaningful conversations about best practices and innovative techniques in treating young patients. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and a collective commitment to enhancing the quality of dental care for children across Latin America.
45th NammaPedo | Synergy of little smiles
Dr. Anna Maria Vierrou, the Interim Secretary General of the IAPD, delivered an exciting keynote lecture at the NammaPedo 2024, 45th ISPPD Annual National Conference, held from 26 to 28 September in the vibrant city of Bengaluru, India. Her talk, titled “Behaviour Management and Challenges Faced with the Millennial Parents and Gen Alpha Children,” resonated deeply with attendees, shedding light on contemporary issues in paediatric dentistry.
This year’s NammaPedo was a resounding success, fostering a spirit of collaboration and innovation within the field of paediatric dentistry.

🌐Spotlight on IAPD Consensus Recommendations
This month, we’re shining a spotlight on the Consensus Recommendation on Management of Molar Incisor Hypomineralization. MIH is a developmental condition affecting the enamel of teeth, specifically presenting as demarcated, qualitative defects. Tooth hypersensitivity associated with MIH often impairs proper brushing, increasing the risk of caries, particularly in molars. Addressing MIH early is important to minimise discomfort, reduce the risk of further complications, and improve the overall oral health of affected individuals.
