The International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry is moving to an online-only format, marking an important step towards more sustainable and accessible scientific publishing.
By reducing the need for printed copies, this transition supports a more environmentally responsible approach, helping to reduce paper use, printing, and international shipping while ensuring that members continue to have convenient access to high-quality research in paediatric dentistry.
IAPD members can continue to access the IJPD through the IAPD Membership Portal, where the latest issues and articles are available online.
Members and readers who wish to receive the latest research directly in their inbox can also sign up for IJPD email alerts. Simply visit the journal homepage, enter your email address, and verify your email to begin receiving notifications when new content is published.
This online-only format reflects a modern, efficient, and eco-conscious way to stay connected with the latest developments in paediatric dentistry.
The International Association of Paediatric Dentistry was proud to participate in the AAPD 2026 Annual Session in Las Vegas, with members of the IAPD Executive Committee attending the event.
Representing the IAPD were Dr Anna Maria Vierrou (Secretary General), Dr Soni Stephen (President), Dr Virinder Goyal (President Elect), and Dr Jorge Castillo (Past President), highlighting the strong international collaboration between paediatric dental communities worldwide.
A highlight of the meeting was the presentation delivered by Dr Anna Maria Vierrou and Dr Jorge Castillo on the topic “Decision Making in the Developing Dentition: Global Perspectives on Early Intervention.” Presented as an interactive clinical decision-making session, the lecture encouraged active audience participation through live polls, discussions, and case-based engagement.
The session explored different global perspectives on early intervention in paediatric dentistry, creating a dynamic exchange of ideas and practical approaches among attendees. The enthusiastic audience interaction reflected the growing importance of collaborative learning and international dialogue in advancing patient care.
The IAPD was delighted to connect with colleagues during AAPD 2026 and looks forward to continuing to strengthen global partnerships in paediatric dentistry.

This month, we’re shining a spotlight on the Consensus Recommendation on Dental Anomalies.
Dental anomalies can affect enamel, dentine, tooth number, eruption, aesthetics, function, and quality of life, making timely diagnosis and appropriate management essential in paediatric dental care.
The IAPD Consensus Recommendations on Dental Anomalies provide valuable guidance on a wide range of conditions, including amelogenesis imperfecta, dentinogenesis imperfecta, dentin dysplasia, hypodontia, supernumerary teeth, dens evaginatus, dens invaginatus, and natal or neonatal teeth. The recommendations highlight practical approaches such as monitoring, early intervention, restorative care, multidisciplinary management, and patient-centred treatment planning.
Explore the recommendations and discover practical guidance to support care for every child.
