The aim of this webinar is to share current Covid-19 information, which is topical and relevant to all countries. Although IAPD does not provide universal guidelines due to the number of member nations, there are several documents which do present important information which can be applied in developed, developing and underdeveloped countries. The use of full Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) in a country with resources varies significantly to other countries, where there is no access to most of this equipment. Some relevant literature on the subject will be presented and PDF documents shared with the participants.

Message from our Publisher: Wiley

As more and more people are affected by COVID-19 restrictions, we want to share an important update from our International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry publisher, Wiley, regarding decisions they are making to manage operations during the pandemic.

Like many of us, Wiley and their vendor-partners in most regions around the world are now working from home. This, in combination with some country-wide lockdowns, is leading to disruption throughout the workflow.

International distribution is completely restricted due to government lockdowns in nearly 150 countries. In most of the major markets that Wiley operates in, only partial lockdowns or lockdowns that do not include suspension of postal service are in place.

At present:

  • Most printers are fully operational. Wiley has advised us that they have put into place appropriate safeguards for the health and safety of their staff, in line with the guidance of their government authorities and mindful of the local context.
  • From a distribution perspective, Wiley is distributing where possible, following government guidance and updates from printers and distributors.

Wiley assured us that, moving forward, they plan to continue to print and distribute to the best of their abilities.

In the meantime, IJPD volume 30, issue 3 is already available online to IAPD members (login to the member area). The print files will be published by the month of May.

The IAPD remains in close contact with the Wiley team to manage the situation.
