Protect Yourself from Scammers!

Recently, there has been a surge in phishing emails impersonating IAPD Board members and Executives. In a concerning trend, such phishing attempts are not unique and have been observed across numerous non-profit societies. The public availability of board members’ names on society websites makes them particularly vulnerable targets. These fraudulent messages aim to deceive you into sharing sensitive information.

To protect yourself:

  • Verify Senders: Always double-check the sender’s email address. Legitimate IAPD communications come from official IAPD domains, like iapdworld.org.
  • Spot Warning Signs: Be cautious of unsolicited emails asking for personal or financial details. Watch for spelling errors, generic greetings, and urgent requests. Our volunteers will never reach out to you requesting sensitive information.
  • Avoid Suspicious Links: Do not click on links or download attachments in unexpected emails. Hover over links to verify web addresses.
  • Confirm Emails: If in doubt, contact the IAPD through official channels to verify an email’s authenticity.

Your vigilance is crucial in safeguarding your information and our community’s security. Remember, we never request sensitive data via email.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the IAPD.

A Shared Commitment to Innovation, Research, and Child-Centred Care

The International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD) is proud to recognise DMG as the sponsor of the IAPD Research & Case Report Awards.

Since its founding in 1963, DMG has grown into a global leader in dental innovation while remaining a family-owned company guided by long-term vision, scientific integrity, and clinical relevance. Today, DMG’s high-quality dental materials and treatment concepts are trusted by clinicians in over 80 countries, supporting effective, patient-centred care across diverse clinical settings.

A defining strength of DMG is its sustained investment in research and development. With approximately 20% of its workforce dedicated to R&D, the company continues to advance prevention-oriented strategies, digital workflows, and modern restorative concepts that respond to the evolving needs of dental professionals and their patients.

These values strongly align with IAPD’s mission to promote excellence in paediatric dentistry through education, research, and global collaboration. By supporting the IAPD Research & Case Report Awards, DMG helps recognise and encourage innovative clinical thinking and high-quality research that directly contribute to improved oral health outcomes for children worldwide.

IAPD sincerely thanks DMG for its ongoing partnership and commitment to advancing paediatric dental care. Together, we continue to support the clinicians and researchers who are shaping the future of the profession — one child, and one smile, at a time.

🌐Spotlight on IAPD Consensus Recommendations

This month, we’re shining a spotlight on the Consensus Recommendation on the Use of Fluoride for Caries Prevention.

Fluoride plays a critical role in the prevention and control of dental caries in children and adolescents. The regular use of fluoride has been shown to significantly reduce the incidence and progression of caries by enhancing remineralisation and inhibiting demineralisation of tooth structure.

Fluoride should be incorporated into daily oral health practices and broader public health strategies aimed at improving oral health outcomes in children.

When used appropriately, fluoride is safe, effective, and one of the most important tools for preventing dental caries globally.
