The International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD) is proud to celebrate the remarkable success of the 2025 Fellowship Examination and warmly welcomes 46 new Fellows into its growing international community.

Held on 22 April 2025, this year’s examination saw candidates from 30 countries put their knowledge, clinical judgement, and commitment to excellence to the test. The successful candidates represent a broad geographical spectrum, underscoring the global reach and inclusivity of the IAPD Fellowship.

From seasoned clinicians in major centres to emerging leaders in underrepresented regions, the new Fellows exemplify the shared dedication to improving children’s oral health worldwide. Their formal recognition will take place during the special Fellowship Certificate Ceremony at the 30th IAPD Congress in Cape Town, followed by an exclusive Fellows Luncheon. For those unable to attend in person, certificates will be sent directly to ensure every Fellow is celebrated.

🌐Spotlight on IAPD Consensus Recommendations

This month, we’re shining a spotlight on the Consensus Recommendation on Age-Appropriate Tooth Alignment Management.

Malocclusions in children are more than just a cosmetic concern—they can impact long-term dental health, jaw development, and even a child’s self-esteem. That’s why the IAPD emphasises the importance of early, age-appropriate management of tooth alignment.

The IAPD’s Consensus Recommendations, endorsed by global experts, strongly support early intervention for cases such as arch length discrepancies, crossbites, and Class II and III malocclusions. This proactive approach not only reduces the risk of incisal trauma and temporomandibular disorders but also enhances psychological well-being and long-term oral health outcomes.

For more complex cases, referral to an orthodontic specialist remains essential. But for many children, early guidance can make all the difference—setting them on the path to a healthier, happier smile.
